HOW DOES VIAGRA WORK?

To understand how Viagra works, it may be helpful to understand erections. When a man is aroused, nerve signals are sent from the brain and around the penis. These nerve signals cause chemicals to be released. These chemicals relax muscles in the penis. Normally, these muscles are constricted so that blood cannot flow into the penis. When these muscles relax, large amounts of blood are able to enter the penis, causing an erection. An erection is reversed when another chemical (known as phosphodiesterase type 5 [PDE5]) breaks down the chemicals that caused the muscles to relax in the first place. This causes the muscles in the penis to constrict again, which results in blood leaving the penis.

Viagra is the trade name for a drug called Sildenafil. Viagra is one of a class of drugs known as PDE-5 (Phosphodiesterase type 5) inhibitors. Viagra and the other PDE-5 inhibitors can help men with male impotence (erectile dysfunction) by enhancing the erectile response when a man is sexually stimulated. Aside from Viagra, the other drugs in this class are Cialis (Tadalafil) and Levitra (Vardenafil).

Viagra, a prescription medication used to treat erectile dysfunction, works by blocking a chemical in the body that is normally responsible for reversing an erection. As a result, more of the chemicals responsible for the erection remain, so the muscles in the penis do not constrict. This allows blood to stay in the penis longer, which allows the man to maintain an erection. Viagra is not an aphrodisiac as it does not cause a man to be mentally sexually aroused. Viagra will only be effective if a man is mentally sexually aroused. Because Viagra has no effect on the chemicals that cause an erection, it does not work without stimulation.

The recommended Viagra dosage that helps most men is 50 mg sildenafil citrate. It should be taken close to one hour before sexual act. Viagra also can be taken from 4 hours to 30 minutes earlier sexual act. Besides, a man can take a maximum dose of 100 mg or a minimum one of 25 mg depending on drug performance and body toleration. It is recommended that Viagra shouldn’t be taken more than one time a day.

The way how Viagra works is truly very simple, and if you would like to take the medication yourself you should neccessary meet your doctor. Although men usually are fine to take Viagra, you must be sure that taking Viagra is not dangerous for you. A few standard tests with your doctor will help you understand if you are eligible to take the drug.

When taking Viagra be sure to comply the dosage instructions. Never take more Viagra than it is recommended by you doctor because this can be not safe.
